FACTS FROM THE PAST

The BMW 3.5 CSL Art Car, painted by American artist Alexander Calder, holds the distinction of being the first BMW Art Car, marking the inception of BMW’s iconic Art Car program in 1975. Commissioned by French auctioneer and racing enthusiast Hervé Poulain, the project aimed to blend art and motorsport, transforming a race car into a rolling canvas.
